A is for Awakening

All throughout history,

People have been trying to share their spiritual awakenings.

It’s as if-

We all have this need to share...

Share space and time with others.

Share what we know, or what we learned, or what we believe to be true.

Spiritual connection is intertwined with that -

On every level.

As if-

Good, bad, or indifferent-

We have a need to be agreed with or corrected.

Like seeking out constantly to shape-

And be shaped-

By eachother.

From the early warnings of “hot” and “cold”-

We have this need to press our knowledge into others.

“That’s dangerous”

“This is good”

“This is bad”....

Yet,

Our other common trait- shared by most or all of humanity-

Is that:

“I have to learn it for myself.”

We don’t want to be “told” something is hot-

We have to experience the “hot” in order to understand the meaning of the word “hot”.

I have chuckled,

Seeing those “deep” conversations on TikTok with a 2 year old.

They do not understand the meaning of the words being said to them-

It is the connection with their parent that is dominating those experiences.

They now know the tone of voice attached to that experience-

Words will come later,

All attached to the meanings and feelings that came when the word “hot” was spoken.

Burn” and “pain” will come later.

The conditioning of our children comes from the responses they get-

Rarely the words.

We understand crying and laughter-

Responses are Triggered by emotion.

Not word.

What is appropriate and what is not-

Based solely on how another person responds to that “unknown”.

I can assist in creating a phobia-

By simply responding to something negatively, in front of someone who has not experienced that “thing” yet.

Jesus knew this-

Like prophets and introspective people, Thinkers and Scientists.

Understanding that the “word” had to be felt-

In order to make sense.

It has to be known and responded to.

You can totally cuss me out in another language without it even wavering my smile-

Cuz I have no idea what you are saying.

Associating words with experiences and feelings, was exactly what the parables were about.

Poetry speaks to emotion.

Music speaks to the connection of hearing and feeling.

Facts and mathematics speak to the intellect.

We don’t “feel” the word CRASH-

Until it happens to us.

............Grief is just sadness until it deepens.

Cold is just cold until cold turns to frostbite-

Then we understand “cold” along with shivering and freezing and pain.

It is those around us-

Who tell us what the feeling of a word is-

And spirituality speaks to that.

It brings us words like:

Belonging, hope, faith, peace, freedom, community—-etc.

It is also defined by the words:

Control, fear, rules and domination.

I have considered that the need to share spiritual awakenings, is like kids on Christmas morning.

Dying to know what is under that tree-

They burst at the seams to have everyone up and involved.

If you have never had, or seen- that experience...

The parallel means nothing to you.

If you have-

Images are immediately brought forward for comparison.

Spirituality is the knowledge that we are intrinsically connected to others, as much as we are connected to our own experience in the environment of living.

Brené Brown says it better-

But so does a few other great writers and spiritual leaders....

People who have shared their own spiritual awakenings with others....

Know- that their understanding or experiences translate to a greater knowledge for the whole collective.

Like unwrapping a gift-

The wealth within means so much more when shared.

Me and my mum once decided that religions all start with one person being driven to share their understandings of life and afterlife.

Search out to understand their own awakenings.

Throughout that person’s’ life- they are seeking to understand the meaning of their insights and understandings through talking it out with others.

The road to salvation.

The understanding of what comes next.

Their interpretation of how we came to be-

With the who, why and where.

Through them-

Others begin to follow along.

Instead of challenging the thoughts-

They adopt them as their own.

They want to understand it from that person’s’ point of view more than wanting to explore what it means to them.

I am influenced by L. Ron Hubbard, as much as Stephen King and New Testiment Paul.

Even if only by the forming of a “word” that I now know the feeling of-

The meaning of -

that word; to me.

....and I can tell you only that.

What that word means to me....:.....

So the awakening of spiritual experiences are associated with “knowing” the unknown.

Whether through feeling, intellect or senses-

We know that we know what we know-

For some,

That’s good enough.

They don’t need to go beyond exactly what they have been told-

The belief that someone else must know better-

Satisfies the spiritual aspect of their life.

"My mothers’ mother was Catholic, and that’s good enough for me."

While others need to know why.

Why were they Catholic?

Why were they not Wicca?

What is the difference?

I want to know what I don’t yet know...

Others turn those questions into revelations- that they then tell others about.

Defining what WAS believed, and what SHOULD be believed instead.

At one time-

Certain people believed the globe was on the back of Atlas.

Others believed it flat.

Other believed it was the moss and water covered blanket on a tortoise-

In those circles-

Everyone agreed about what they knew to be true-

Until it wasn’t.

Years ago,

I realized that the reason, That every culture has myths and legends..

Most logically- (I think)

Was because there was some truth to it.

Some...

Underlying important information.

A warning.

A danger or feeling that should not be ignored.

Since history repeats itself-

Winding out, in a circular pattern.

Ever expanding,

As we LEARN from the awakenings of others.

As we know better,

We do better.

So it’s not a good idea to ignore or discredit the awakenings of others.

Without the exploration and inventions those awakenings brought about-

Today would not look the same.

Cuba is a really good example of that-

A place trapped in time.

Rejecting the awakenings of the countries around them,

They stand trapped in their own denial of the need to grow, adapt and change.

It’s way more complex than that-

But it makes for a stark meaning to the act of spiritual stagnation.

“This is what greed and fear can do”-

And that feeling can’t solidify as a personal lesson, until the individual can feel it.

I think that is why it might be good to listen.

But also to share-

Casting seeds is about putting it out there.

Sharing.

Casting pearls before swine, is about wasting energy in the wrong direction.

Over-sharing.

But,

Perhaps the most profound awakening comes with understanding that you do not have the right to awaken the sleeping.

There is no wisdom

In the second kick of a mule.

You may place the water before them-

But you may not force them to drink.

My youngest child-

Jo-Bug...respectfully...

Was born with this amazing ability to attract and maintain attentions in a charismatic way.

They can charm the sparkle off a diamond.

The gift of dynamic attraction-

Which of course began at birth.

Coming out in their own fashion,

Jo-bug named themselves- before they twisted my lower back to make an entrance.

If you have ever seen one of those “big-eyed” stickers or emojis-

That was the presence they brought.

Gerber Baby to active speaker.

Even important strangers, stopped to let that little kid chatter their ear off-

Stooping down to be captured by the glitter-power of those dancing eyes.

I’m telling you-

This youngster could sell you your own back pack filled with their laundry-

And you would likely happily do it for them.

There are people born to share awakenings.

Awakenings come more fluidly when they are noticed-

Also, bad ideas can be stifled just as much as the good ones.

I have considered that most plots for evil deeds - play out in real life when they are obsessed on without challenge.

If someone told me that robbing the liquor store was a good idea-

They would find their awakening knocked tf out.

Not in my neighbourhood...Chachi.

So when it comes to spiritual awakenings-

It must be the movement of the rhythm of the soul....

Tho....

Lindy and I have discussed at great lengths, what...exactly, a soul IS.

It makes a difference -

Our understanding of “soul”.

Some see wispy white things.

A who’s who of Who-

Others see the form of man- human- woman- thing.

Some see it in the animals, in nature-

In the air around and the air we breathe.

Which is why-

Me personally-

I see the soul as the Breath.

All creation- the air and experience...like crop circles.

And God-

YHWH.

The inhale-

Yaaaaaaaahhhh

The exhale-

Wheeeeyyyy

I really do see it as that simple.

Because to me-

That is also complex.

I have known many, who feel God as a personified deity.

I cannot say they are wrong,

Not at all.

For all I know-

They could be right.

But, in that same way.

I also,

Know what I know,

And know that I don’t know, what I don’t know.

Coram Deo,

Before the face of God.

So,

I don’t even pretend to be awakened any more.

In my youth-

It was so super important to share what I discovered-

Correct what I believed to be “wrong”.

Before I learned to simply cast seeds-

I was out there cramming RONA buckets full of pearls into every mouth that came around.

I bet money, some of those pearls likely choked someone.

Not every idea is a good one!

I guess,

I came to the conclusion that we should-

Share our awakenings if we feel compelled to.

But with restraint.

Not every gem is a diamond.

Not everything that looks like peanut butter; is.

Listen twice,

Ask again-

Then speak.

Could be that’s why these blogs see important to me.

If you are reading this-

It is because you want to.

No one is forcing your eyes over these words.

No one is forcing me, to tap-tap-tap them out.

I am doing it,

Because I want to.

You are consuming it,

Because you want to.

My seeds and your soil.

Connecting out of sheer cosmic intervention.

But for my focus and yours-

this is Nothing but feathers on the wind.

Petals passing by as they dry....

That’s nature.

That’s life.

That is...

Awakening.
